A HUMORIST’S NOTEBOOK!
Pepe Pelayo, a Cuban-born humorist, writer, and editor, has published his new book, Cuaderno de un humorista (A Humorist’s Notebook). Pelayo, known for his research on humor, is also the founder and editor-in-chief of the Humor Sapiens website.
Having devoted his life and art to humor, Pelayo shares his personal experiences, doubts, decisions, and contradictions with his readers in this new work. As he recounts his experiences with La Seña del Humor, the comedy group from Matanzas, and his life journey from Cuba to Chile, he also expresses his thoughts on artistic creativity and humor. Life’s questions, the challenges we face, and the experiences he has lived through form the foundation of this narrative.
Written in an honest, direct, and sometimes ironic style, the book explores the responsibilities that come with the ego, friendship, loyalty, dreams, failures, and the choice to create. Drawing on his own life, Pelayo not only sheds light on the world of an artist but also invites readers to confront themselves and their own decisions.
Cuaderno de un humorista is not merely a humorous work intended to make readers laugh. It is also a sincere reflection on the decisions that shape who we are, the questions that stay with us throughout our lives, and the human effort to discover ourselves.
We congratulate Pepe Pelayo, a master of humor who has contributed to Fenamizah, on his new book, and we hope his work will find a wide readership.
