Fundadores
Pepe Pelayo (Matanzas, Cuba, 1952 – Santiago de Chile desde 1992) es ingeniero civil, escritor, guionista, comediante, director teatral y humorista gráfico. Ha publicado más de 80 libros en Hispanoamérica y ha sido premiado en numerosos certámenes internacionales. Cofundó la compañía La Seña del Humor en Cuba y es miembro activo de varias organizaciones dedicadas al estudio y la promoción del humor en el mundo.

Historia
Humor Sapiens comenzó en 2005 como una pequeña editorial con sede en Montevideo, Uruguay. Creada por Pepe Pelayo, Alex Pelayo, Freddy Reigía y Mireya Silva, publicó diez libros de humor para niños, jóvenes y adultos, y organizó talleres, ferias y concursos en Uruguay, Chile y Argentina.
