Arlequín
Reseña: Es el personaje más popular de la Comedia del Arte italiana. Astuto y necio, intrigante e indolente, sensual y grosero, brutal y cruel, ingenuo, pobre de solemnidad y es un fabuloso acróbata saltarín. Con el tiempo, su vestuario se convirtió en un traje de triángulos multicolores. También su original sombrero fue cambiando hasta convertirse en un sombrerete de bufón de influencia centroeuropea.
Data: Perteneciente a la Comedia del Arte, aparecida en Italia en el siglo XVI, pero cuyo origen tiene lugar en la Edad Media. El personaje perdió definitivamente sus proporciones originales con las Harlequinadas, género teatral cómico británico.

Arlequín
Review: He is the most popular character of the Italian *Commedia dell'Arte*. Cunning yet foolish, scheming yet indolent, sensual yet crude, brutal yet cruel, and naive—as well as destitute—he is a fabulous, acrobatic tumbler. Over time, his attire evolved into a costume featuring multicolored triangles. His original hat also changed, eventually becoming a jester's cap with Central European influences.
Date: Associated with *Commedia dell'arte*—which emerged in Italy in the 16th century but had its origins in the Middle Ages—the character definitively lost his original proportions with the advent of Harlequinades, a British comic theatrical genre.
