Durante muchos años me he dedicado a caminar las calles de varias ciudades, siempre con mi cámara a cuestas, buscando aquello que “rompa” lo establecido, que muestre una incoherencia, una incongruencia, que nos sorprenda, y nos haga reír.
Por supuesto, esta tarea de ser 'cazador de imágenes' aunque apasionante, no es fácil. Muchas veces interviene el azar, pero en la mayoría de las ocasiones, para lograr la imagen deseada, el fotógrafo tiene que invertir mucho tiempo, caminar bastante, y agudizar su poder de observación, o sea estar a la viva, y sorprenderse con lo que ve. No podemos dejar de mencionar que el fotógrafo en cuestión debe tener mente ágil, reacción instantánea, y sobre todo estar armado de eso que se llama sentido del humor, esa capacidad que nos permite descubrir el elemento cómico, donde quiera que esté.
Parte de ese trabajo aparece en el libro Foto & Grafía, Imagen y palabra en busca del humor, donde muestro una selección de mis fotos, acompañada cada una de ellas por un texto de Pepe Pelayo, en una obra que me enorgullece que se haya forjado gracias a la colaboración valiosa de un escritor como Pelayo.

Por supuesto que mi actividad como “cazador” no se detiene, y cada día salgo por las calles de la ciudad gallega de A Coruña, donde resido, en búsqueda de “nuevas presas”. Mi objetivo es centrarme en personas, animales, o cosas que encuentre en mi recorrido diario, siempre con una pretensión humorística. Para ello, hay que desarrollar el máximo nivel de curiosidad y apertura al mundo, y si es posible anticiparse a lo inesperado.
Y es que a todos nos encanta ver imágenes que cuentan historias interesantes.
La fotografía nunca deja de deleitarnos, sorprendernos, conmovernos e informarnos.
La emoción de captar imágenes de lo que te encuentras en una caminata callejera, donde te sorprende lo inesperado, las inimaginables yuxtaposiciones, los encuentros fortuitos, y destacar los contrastes, las exageraciones, el humor, es el reto que tengo con la cámara fotográfica para revelar lo que poca gente ve de la cotidianidad.
Todos podemos desarrollar la capacidad creativa y humorística al tomar fotos, y más ahora que las nuevas tecnologías aplicadas a los teléfonos móviles y a las tablets posibilitan fomentar la afición por la fotografía y los vídeos, al poseer ambos adminículos cámaras de calidad que permiten la evolución del mundo de la imagen.
Con estas nuevas imágenes que he captado y quiero compartir con ustedes, los invito a salir a la calle y engrandecer su afición fotográfica, no solo para alimentar el hábito del selfie, y enviar imágenes a familiares y amigos, sino también para desarrollar la pasión por tomar fotos cada vez más creativas y artísticas, que favorecen la imaginación y el talento que llevamos dentro. Así, millones de fotos son captadas actualmente cada día en el mundo, en los más variados eventos. Y surgen el humor, la risa y la alegría.

For many years, I have walked the streets of various cities, always carrying my camera, searching for something that “breaks” the norm, something that reveals an inconsistency, an incongruity, that surprises us and makes us laugh.
Of course, this task of being an ‘image hunter,’ while exciting, is not easy. Chance often plays a role, but most of the time, to capture the desired image, a photographer must invest a lot of time, walk extensively, and sharpen their observational skills—to always be alert and ready to be surprised by what they see. We must also mention that the photographer in question must have a quick mind, instant reactions, and, above all, be armed with what is called a sense of humor—the ability to discover the comic element wherever it may be.
